Does the document layout change during translation?
No, there is no change in the layout of documents during translation. All text, tables and graphs keep the same format.
Is the quality of automatic translation comparable with human translation?
Computer translation has reached a high technological standard and facilitates understanding in many languages. However it cannot be expected to attain the same quality as the translations carried out by professional translators. Machines have not yet caught up with humans. Nonetheless, automatic translators may prove helpful for many people, and make the translation process faster and more effective.
Can Translatica translate speech?
Yes. It is possible to translate speech from English to Polish. This option is only active when the current window in the Translation Editor is the English language window.
Is it complicated to install the program?
The program has an intuitive interface and installation is very simple. Expert assistance will not be required.
Do I have to keep the CD-ROM in the drive when using the program?
No. After installation, the program uses only resources on the hard disk.
Does Translatica include a dictionary?
Yes. The dictionary is opened in the Translation Editor. For each entry you can view its foreign-language equivalent together with explanatory information and usage contexts.
Translatica 5 Server
How is Translatica 5 Server licensed?
A single basic licence for Translatica 5 Server is granted for a server with one processor (with any number of cores). Naturally we also offer licences for multi-processor servers.
The licence agreement also specifies the number of concurrent users accessing the translator (CALs) and the number of installations of the client application.
What operating system should be installed on the server?
The server may have a GNU/Linux operating system or Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server installed.
How much memory (free resources) should the server have?
The precise amount of resources needed depends on the number of concurrent connections, but it can be assumed that the server should have at least 1GB of free RAM and 1.5 GB free hard-disk space.
Is it possible to add my own entries and meanings to the application?
The program has a tool called Translation Memory, which makes it possible to add entries and their meanings in multiple languages. Items added to the translation memory are given precedence in the translation process.
In the case of firms with many branches, what are the permissible delays in communication between branches?
The permissible delay in communication between branches is taken to be approximately 50 ms.

Is Translatica 5.0 Enterprise available in a network version?
No. Translatica 5.0 Enterprise is a single-machine version, installed on local disks.
Is there an automatic translator available in a network version?
Yes. We offer an advanced translation system in a network version: Translatica 5 Server.What dictionaries are used by Translatica 5.0 Enterprise?
Translatica 5.0 Enterprise is based on the content of the PWN Great Dictionaries. In the Polish-English and English-Polish translators in this edition there are also additional dictionaries available in the fields of economics, medicine, politics and the European Union.

What are the differences between Translatica 5.0 Office and 5.0 Enterprise?
Translatica 5.0 Enterprise has additional functions which are not included in the 5.0 Office version, such as:
- support for adding your own entries to the dictionary
- Translation Memory Editor, enabling previously translated sentences to be stored in memory
- the English version also includes specialized dictionaries in the fields of economics, medicine, politics and the European Union
